MKX Kontinues To Be Krap

It has been about two weeks since the launch of MKX, and for me the BS just keeps piling up. I'd say at this point we are about knee deep in the "Krap". I've invested hours, and days worth of gameplay time into the game hoping to hell that it would improve, but even with the behind-the-scenes patches being issued it remains the same broken mess that it was since day one. Of course I have discovered new problems, some of which are quite "Koncerning". Among them is the fact that mobile device gamers using the MKX game app can fight online against players on the consoles. I don't know what the hell Netherrealm was thinking making it cross play like that, because obviously playing on a tablet, or mobile device, and playing with a controller on a console are two very different experiences. I'm willing to bet (not really) that the mobile app users can pull things off more easily than someone using an actual controller ...

Other "Koncerning" issues lie with the overburdened servers that "Kontinue" to cause faction update issues. Through YureiGeisha79's (A special friend using my PS4) Japanese PSN account I figured out that she had no issues with accessing the faction war page like I did. The only thing I can figure is that her Japanese account kept her online activities separate from the the US servers, because of her region. It boggles my mind, especially considering the fact that she games on my US PS4. As far as the online lag, and netcode goes it's still bollocks, and is a disgrace to online fighting games. You'll find plenty of lagswitchers, and players who are using the programmable modded controllers for one button combos.

Another thing that bothers me about online "Kombat" in MKX is the fact that there are players who are being shown in the stat updates as being at the top of the leaderboard with wins in the hundreds, and losses in the single digits. I call BS. These players are the ones who are cheating their way to the top with lags, exploits, and mods. It makes the faction leaderboard standings wholly unreliable. In fact it's the same damn thing that happened in 'INJUSTICE'. If Netherrealm can't fix this game in a decent amount of time, and make it worthwhile I can only see this new Mortal Kombat experience ruining their reputation as a fighting game developer, especially amongst legit fighting game enthusiasts. What they have done is basically attract the "CoD" thugs, and yoloists to make more money, and in that I think they may have succeeded. Sadly they have begun to run off the fighting game enthusiasts, like me who returned to their games because of our dedication to the fighting game genre.

The only sound advice I can offer to a developer like Netherrealm who is looking to capitalize on sales through the "CoD Crowd" is don't do it. It might get you that extra income, but in the long run your legit fan base will turn from you, and your future game offerings. When this happens, and the CoD thugs, and yoloists start having to "Kombat" each others cheating they too will grow tired of it, and will also turn away from your games. Don't sacrifice the trust of the ones who made you big in the first place for a easy profit. It will come back to bite you in the ass if you do. Trust me.

As far as the issues plaguing MKX goes I just hope the game gets fixed soon. It has had the most issues I've known any fighter to have at launch. This is most definitely not a good thing ... I think I'm going to close on that note. I hope Netherrealm hears me out, and doesn't fall to the wayside as a fighting game developer, because of their mistakes. We all make mistakes, but it is those who learn from them, and improve that prevail.
