Tim Fields of Certain Affinity recently contacted me about some new 'Crimson Alliance' DLC that's going to be released! I'm quite excited about this as I'm sure some of you will be. I recently reviewed this game, so you can check out my review if you want to know what the core game is about. The 'Vengeance Pack' DLC that will be released on Oct. 12 will cost 240 msp ($3). It will contain a new multiplayer campaign featuring two new threats as well as new enemy types. The DLC will also include a challenge map called 'Fistful of Coins' which will put the player up against increasingly more difficult enemies for a serious amount of gold. I'm definitely looking forward to it, and I know some of my friends will be as well.

Upcoming LIVE Astro Cluster (XBLIG) Party July 10, 2011!!!
Last night I was lucky enough to share some Live Xbox 360 matches of 'Astro Cluster' with the developer, and some fellow gamers/reviewers. This was actually my third, or fourth time playing alongside Skoddle (of Skoddle Games). He happens to be one of the nicest guys, and XBLIG developers I know. It's not often I've met someone as kind as him. Currently the sales of his game have been somewhat limited, but that doesn't stop him from improving the quality of the game. Recently he even made an update to make the game more user friendly. He has definitely gone out of his way to make the game a fun experience for those who purchased it. The live matches he hosts shows that he truly cares about his customers. His goal is to make sure the Astro Cluster players can enjoy the game to it's fullest. Since it is a strong multiplayer based game it's nice to be able to join others even if it is only on special occasions. If you would like to join us next Sunday be sure to get the game. It's only 80 msp ($1), and every bit worth the asking price. You should also send @Skoddle a tweet letting him know that you would like to join in. I think it's awesome what Skoddle has done for his gaming community, and I'm glad to be a part of it. In my lifetime as a gamer I would have never dreamed I would be gaming with a developer of a video game. It truly is an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up.

SAD NEWS ABOUT UPCOMING REVIEWS ...
I've kept in contact with some of the XBLIG developers who promised me a code, and they seem to be having issues in acquiring them. Solmonus, the developer of 'When Maiden's Attack', and Tristan Nishimoto the developer of 'Rainbow Runner' haven't received their codes yet. The developer of 'Fluffy: Operation Overkill' (sosodevgames) told me they won't be getting their codes, and it's not their fault. Whatever the case is I will not be doing a review on 'Fluffy: Operation Overkill. If the other games that were promised fall through as well I'll just start doing trial reviews, and full game reviews when I can afford to at my own expense. I apologize for letting everyone down, but it was honestly not my fault. I was promised the games for review, and unfortunately it didn't work out. I still hope to bring you quality reviews even if it is only of trial versions. My goal has been, and always will be delivering my quality reviews about the things I love which includes video games.

Lucha Fury Developer's Studio Shut Down & Code Giveaway
Recently I was privelaged enough to get a review code for the XBLA title 'Lucha Fury' from Andy M. at xblaratings. I finished the review for him recently, and ended up summing the game up as being a 9 out of 10. I thought it was very deserving of such a rating despite my issues with the in-game stun effects. I was contacted by the developer today with some rather sad news that his studio was shutting down. He didn't give details other than this will be his last game. He did mention that he had read my review at xblaratings.com, and told me he was glad I enjoyed it. He told me that reviewers failed to mention the multiplayer, and co-op that was the main focal point when it came to humor in the game. I unfortunately was one of those reviewers. My only excuse for that is I had no one to share the experience with. I definitely missed out on that. In future reviews I hope I can find someone to do multiplayer with. I think Lucha Fury's developer deserved some reviews with every detail of the game mentioned. It's truly sad when a studio that produces a quality game title such as this has to shut down. My apology goes out the the developer.I'm definitely sorry for not being able to cover the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Skoddle Game's "Astro Cluster" Possible LIVE Weekend Matches
I've been doing Xbox Live Indie Game reviews just for a short while now. It has truly been a dream job for me, and Andy Merrill of xblaratings.com made that possible. While doing reviews for Andy I reviewed a game titled 'Astro Cluster'. The game ended up recieving a '10' rating which was the highest available on the site. It rightfully deserved it as well. I'm not going to go over the review here out of respect for Andy, and xblaratings.com. If you want to read the review you can find it at www.xblaratings.com. There's also a link to that site here on my blog. After reviewing the game, the developer @Skoddle replied to my review with a kind message complimenting me. It's not every day that I recieve compliments from a game developer, so this was a special moment for me. @Skoddle ended up inviting me to play online with him, and I did not hesitate to accept. The first online match we played was without the headset, but it was still very fun. We ended up sampling all of the multiplayer modes, and had a good time doing so.
