I almost totally forgot about my plans to include this weekly post. As you can probably tell I've been swamped with work lately. That work load alone has thrown me off course from my regular routine. Between my work with Xcritic, Paradise Theater XxX, and OtakuDante's Gaming Inferno I've had little to no time to myself. People just don't realize how hectic a journalists' job can be. The fact that I put in more time, and effort than most journalists definitely speaks of my dedication to my work though. Despite my one man army approach I'm still doing good to get reviews out to my readers. At the current time though my adult readers are getting more attention due to the consistent flow of review material. Games on the other hand are a slow go this year, and have not been as plentiful as last year. With the new consoles released one would think that the library for next-gen would be growing steadily. Instead PS4 owners, and Xbox One owners are getting short handed with remakes, upgrades, and a pitiful selection of new releases.
While the next-gen/current-gen offerings are few, and far between there are definitely some great titles on their way. In fact NISA, Atlus, Tecmo Koei, and Konami have some games slated for future release that will most certainly be noteworthy. NISA for example has been pouring out exceptional JRPGs for the Vita, and will even be releasing some new ones for the PS3. Atlus is another one to keep a watch out for. Their scarier than hell horror survival game "Daylight" will be released in the spring, or summer of this year. They've also got a JRPG called "Conception II" that will be released in the coming months. It's interesting gameplay involves baby making in a haphazard sort of way. As far as Tecmo Koei goes they have a few games up their sleeves, no doubt. I do know that "Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z" is on it's way, and that there's a rumor of a new next-gen DOA going around the interweb.
Let's not forget Konami either. This well known development studio has in it's future some eagerly anticipated releases in the form of two new Metal Gear games, and a new Castlevania follow up that is scheduled to release next week. I'm definitely stoked for what's to come this year from them. I think 2014 will be the year for great games in general, especially RPGs/JRPGs. Toukiden, and Danganronpa for example have already started off the JRPG season on a strong note, and have set the standards for future JRPG releases. I have some other JRPGs set in my sights, and will be reviewing as many of them as I can before the year is up. I do hope you stay tuned in for those reviews.
Other than that news you'll find that I have been spending some quality time playing Toukiden, and the usual CoD: GHOSTS in my spare time. Toukiden, which currently has top spot in my blog's "Top 3 Postings" definitely has my undivided attention. It really deserves the spotlight that it has gotten as does Danganronpa. As far as GHOSTS goes I play it only to teach hackers, and cheaters a lesson. I am the ultimate camper in that game, and always come out of it with a positive k/d ratio. I'm just that good. Also I get a sadistic satisfaction out of teaching the online lowlife scum a lesson in humility. I know that's not what the game was intended for, but you're either camping the hell out of people, or you are losing.
As I mentioned earlier new games are on the way, and I'll definitely be getting my hands on some of them. I hope you have enjoyed the reviews I've provided so far, and that you stay around for the reviews to come. I will always strive my hardest to keep you up to date on the latest game releases, and industry happenings. If I ever feel compelled to provide a rant I'll do so, and if I ever feel the need to talk about a gaming topic that concerns me I'll do that as well. That is why I'm here after all. I want to thank you all for your continued visitation to this blog. Your support means a lot to me. My only hope is that I never let you down with the articles, and postings that I offer. I think I'll end this weekend update on that note. Until next time I bid you farewell. Game on my Awesome readers!!! Remember to maintain a positive outlook, and your days will be Awesome!
Your Last Samurai,
Brad (OtakuDante)
