MWII | Closing Thoughts

As MWII's final season comes to a close, and MWIII is ushered in I find myself both anxious, and curious once again. Having stuck with MWII for the seasonal grind and updates I saw a once humble game turn slowly into something better. It may not have been the best experience, but it definitely got better.

In this final Halloween themed season we saw the best battle pass offerings yet. Stuff worth buying into. Even at the Black Cell tier level. It featured staple Spawn characters, themed comic book weapons, baubles, and customization options that made Spawn's creator, Todd McFarlane, proud. As a Spawn fan it was the cherry on top of the cake. It sealed the deal, and made for some noteworthy additions to the carry over collection that will be usable in MWIII.

Alongside Spawn's season debut we got some amazing collab skins in the shop that hardly anyone saw coming. There was a Diablo IV collab, a Hellsing collab, and a DUNE collab. The Alucard Hellsing skin, in particular, blew my mind. It was 3D anime perfection!!! As a dedicated player, and series fan I copped some of these bad boys for myself, and I hope you were able to too if you were still playing MWII here at the end of it's life cycle.

Beyond the cosmetics and collabs there was the seasonal Haunting event to close things out. A Diablo IV themed Warzone event wherein you could hunt down and fight against targets like the Butcher. Also included were modes tied to the holiday spirit within multiplayer. Offering up an Infected variant, a Trick 'r Treat variant, and one other I can't recall at the moment. It was the perfect send off at the perfect time for those who have stuck with the MWII grind since launch.

MWIII & The Future ...

Going into MWIII soon my expectations are as usual. I hope to see more money worthy battle passes, more insane skins, and a multiplayer experience that is better than what MWII offered. I say the latter, because MWII's multiplayer experience was frustrating at times. Not because of the game or the gun play, but because of the plague of cheaters who infiltrated the lobbies. While the anti-cheat might have been implemented and working in Warzone the Multiplayer side of things was a different story. It's why I hope the teams over at Activision make an honest effort to also combat the multiplayer side of the game, and make it just as inviting as Warzone. I have always leaned more towards multiplayer, and less towards Warzone as a modern CoD player, and to see it take a back seat to the free-to-play side was disappointing.

As per course I will be investing copious amounts of time into the upcoming MWIII, and will deliver reviews in segments. Detailing the campaign, the multiplayer experience, and the new Zombies features. I will go over the gun mechanics as well as how the transfer of previous content to the new game works out. On my Twitter and YT channel expect the usual gameplay snippits. I hope those of you interested will stay tuned for all of that. MWIII releases this month, and not far from now. Fingers crossed it's a continued improvement, overall.
