Rings of Power | Racism

Everyone's probably got caught up in the whole "Rings of Power" debate by now. Should the director be allowed to cast a diverse collective of actors for an established fantasy? Do people of diverse ethnicities, and genders deserve to play roles in those works?

For me the stance is far more complicated than being a black or white ordeal. It's not about diversity being wrong or inclusivity either. I see it for what it is. People getting superficial roles according to a collective ideology. Namely Marxism or Socialism. These actors, and actresses aren't standing out according to their own talent. They are filling the representative role of race, and gender. In the case of "Rings of Power" this is proven in the interviews of the actress who played the black female dwarf. She herself said that she feels empowered as a representative of her race and gender.

As an entertainment critic, and consumer I have witnessed this trend of character and lore replacement on a superficial level. Every time I see it it upsets me even more. Not, because the roles are being filled with a diverse or inclusive casting, but because those actors and actresses are being sold a lie. They are being told they'll shine, and be stars. At first sight it might seem that way through promo too, but when you start paying attention to the underlying focus from directors, and the casting it becomes more evident that this is about the collective. About keeping people worth only as much as the collective they fit in. You cannot stand out in a crowd, and therein lies the problem. They do not want these people to become true stars. They want to use them to push an ideology that undermines their worth.

Most directors have realized that the only way they can push their message of propaganda is to hijack older works of fiction, and historical value. By doing this it gains the attention of the fandom who is often times in opposition to the bastardization of the source material. Whether it be race or gender swaps. It's all about stirring up a fuss, and getting the divisive debate rolling. Nothing more, and nothing less. These directors, and creators ultimately want all people accepting the divide via superficial labels so that they can normalize the collective nature of Socialism/Marxism. That's their endgame. Damned be who they hurt in the process. By dividing people into collectives they ultimately dumb down their value as an individual. Negating standout talent, and skill. Things like unique forms of creativity are lost in favor of skin color or gender. It's why you see race, and gender take the main focus in films, games, and comic books. The characters in these things are designed to standout in accordance to those differences. Often times reduced to stereotypes without a properly fleshed out background.

Race, and gender do not make a person a hero or heroine. It does not serve as proper inspiration, or create likable characters. What it does do is perpetuate a hateful narrative that some people are victims, and others are privileged. Rewarding perpetual victimhood, and demonizing those who have nothing to do with the hate that's thrust upon them. If you are a victim you cannot be a hero. You cannot be the hero of your own story, and you cannot inspire others to beat victimhood. Hollywood, and the gaming industry realizes this. They are making a killing off of making people feel like victims. Beyond that, and in the real world we have these pockets of society buying into the politicians who sell them favor at the expense of being able to be financially free. Playing upon their victimhood status. Making them wholly dependent on government handouts, and a slave to the system that aims to enslave everyone. They tell you that you're the victim, and reward you for playing the victim. All while you create the very enslavement situation that you are supposedly fighting against.

The next time you think about taking a side in one of these divisive debates remember what I wrote here. Remember that you are more than the color of your skin. That you are more than a gender or sexual preference. That you deserve to be a star. See these industry recruitments for what they are. A way to dumb down your worth to a collective label that does not allow you to stand out from the crowd. Above all else don't be a victim. Be a hero. Be an inspiration. For all.
