Happy New Years! From OtakuDante's Gaming Inferno!!!

I hope all of you have had a good December if not a good holiday season. It's been a rocky year of ups and downs across the globe. War, rumors of war, and the ongoing threats of climate change and the pandemic. We never seem to catch a break from the fearmongering, and the seemingly hopelessness of our situation.

Being the occasional optimist I have learned to not dwell on the things which I cannot change, and to only focus on making the most of the time I have. Building upon relationships, and friendships as I go through each day. I find the most important things in life are the bonds that strengthen us, lift us up, and carry us through the bad times. Good memories, though hard to come by, are a must for our wellbeing. Making those good memories means interacting with our fellow human beings on a mutually beneficial level, and putting in the effort to do so. I hope, in looking forward, that you choose to detach from the trappings of technology, and spend quality time with those you care about more often in 2023. That is my main goal going into the New Year ...

New Year's resolutions aside I aim to continue bringing to you insightful reviews on the latest game releases. Fate willing. I will seek out, as I usually do, releases that I feel deserve the coverage, and your money. I want to prioritize covering games that go above and beyond to impress. If you are a PR reading this, and I reach out to you it means I think your game has this potential. At the very least take it as a compliment.

Speaking of PR, I know some bridges have been burnt, but I'm a man who can move past the politics and things that PR deem problematic to provide a proper review not dragged down by personal agendas. I'm not one who tries to use game access to push an agenda or bait my audience into hearing an agenda. I'm not like that, and am only into it for the love of gaming. To critique games on a technical level with fun factor accounted for. I stray away from doing opinion pieces, and provide all the details necessary for the reader to figure out whether or not the game in question is something they'd like to buy into.

As a reviewer of 12 years and going I provide reviews in a timely fashion, and in a professional manner. I have done work for some of the more prestigious studios as well as rising stars of indie fame. Twelve years has allowed me to fine tune my approach, my writing skills, and my understanding of the inner workings of the industry. I am business savvy, and can help those looking to really impress with their debut games. Being a gamer, and a game reviewer has me in a position to be able to relate with industry professionals, and gamers alike.

Seeing as I monetize nothing, and that my work isn't the end all be all of my career I can be both honest, and helpful without dealing in the polarizing opinion wars that often times take place among outlets competing for views. I don't game the system with clickbait, and I do not inject personal opinion as a final verdict measure of worth. I, as most gamers, realize that not every game is for everybody. That not all people are going to enjoy the same thing. That bad and good by scale is more of a personal preference. I often times tell people to enjoy what they enjoy, and not let the critics or fanboys ruin it for them. At the end of the day it's the individual who is playing whose enjoyment matters. Not the naysayers, or communities.

I will close in saying this ... 2023 brings with it a lot of uncertainties. Things could escalate to a point where things like my work here won't matter. Where survival of the fittest is the only thing on peoples' minds. It is why I intend on continuing to take things a day at a time. Doing what I can, when I can. I am open to PR review requests pertaining to Switch and PS4 releases, as per usual. You can reach out to me via email, or Twitter. I hope that you do. Don't let differing politics come between you and a good review. Have an Awesome New Years my friends, and whatever may come of 2023 may it allow you to live your best life. Blessings to all!
