Dungeon Defenders (XBLA): LIVE With @CherryRasulka

The developer (Trendy Ent.) of this unique/amazing tower defense hybrid game (Dungeon Defenders) gave me not one, but two review codes. The reason behind this was that the guys/gals at Trendy Ent. felt that it was necessary for me to be able to experience the entire game as it was meant to be experienced. Dungeon Defenders offers the gamer a solid single player/multiplayer gaming experience, but in the end I found that the game was truly meant to be enjoyed with someone else. My someone else (the reciever of the 2nd review code) just so happened to be my good friend @CherryRasulka from Twitter. Her, and her husband have both shared a previous online gaming experience with me, so I knew she would be the perfect teammate for the job. She has agreed to do an interview with me which I thought was quite nice. What follows is a series of questions, and answers between me and @CherryRasulka about her time with 'dungeon Defenders' ...

Interview With @CherryRasulka (Dungeon Defenders)

1. "When you started up 'Dungeon Defenders' (Intro & Tutorial) what was your initial impressions of the game?"

@CherryRasulka: The story is an absolute fighter game! I love how each player has there own strength & they get to choose who they want to be. The story built me up to be ready for battle. I'm ready to take everyone on!

2. "After playing through the tutorial what did you think of the game's control scheme/layout?"

@CherryRasulka: I found that it was very difficut at first even with the tutorial, My daughter didn't do the tutorial but she figured it out.

3. "Was it easy for you to learn the controls of 'Dungeon Defenders' through the in-game tutorial? Was it difficult?"

@CherryRasulka: The tutorial had so much to teach you that I was intimidated at first. I stuck it out & started to get the hang of it. I'm truly glad that I did the full tutorial rather than the short one. The controls are super easy once you get the hang of it & pay attention.

4. "What did you think about Dungeon Defender's character customization?"

@CherryRasulka: I really enjoyed being able to customize my character's colors even down to the hair. I wished that I could customize my character's strengths, but they did the characters justice on customization.

5. "What did you think about the four available character classes? Which one was your favorite?"

@CherryRasulka: I'm glad that there were four character classes, each person has their own strengths in who they play. I chose the Huntress, because I like to play as a ranged character just like my daughter.

6. "What did you think about the mixture of Tower Defense, and RPG gameplay mechanics? Did they mix well in this game?"

@CherryRasulka: There was a big difference on those! But I loved them both.

7. "Was the splitscreen in 'Dungeon Defenders' a problem?"

@CherryRasulka: Not at all! I was pleased with that option of being able to go where I needed to so I could defend on dungeon door while my husband @Waxxxz018 could be on the other side of the dungeon & defend those doors!

8. "What did you think of the Xbox LIVE mode of the game?"

@CherryRasulka: I loved the Xbox Live Mode because this game requires more than one character. If you actually try only one player, I have to say good luck & find me!

9. "Do you think singleplayer, or multiplayer is better in Dungeon Defenders? What is your preference?"

@CherryRasulka: My preference is multiplayer all the way! It's fun being able to play with people, especially when you have so many enemies coming at you! It's not an easy game even though it says it's for ages 10 & up. This is a strategic game that requires more people helping out!

10. "What were some of your favorite parts of the overall 'Dungeon Defenders' experience?"

@CherryRasulka: There is no favorite part! I have enjoyed each level that has been thrown my way! To begin with it is not easy, but as you grow it becomes easier as you go!

11. "Did the game have any flaws that you noticed, and if so what were they?"

@CherryRasulka: When creating the name for your character, my husband tried to use the name that he always uses but it wouldn't allow him to use the 'XXX'. The creators made it where you can't use any type of profanity, or slang which in a way is a good thing since little kids could be online playing the game as well.

12. "On a scale of 1 -10 (1 being the worst & 10 being the best) how good/bad do you think your gameplay experience of 'Dungeon Defenders' was?"

@CherryRasulka: I would have to give Dungeon Defenders a score of 8. I really enjoyed it, but it does take a co-op play mode to be able to complete the game! This is more of a co-op game rather than just single player.
