Good News!!! "Phantom Breaker"

Some of you are already aware of my attempt to start reviewing Xbox 360 disc based games. I have recently sent out a handful of inquiries to various retail developers in hopes of securing a retail game for review. In my recent attempts with Capcom (RE: ORC & SFxT) I was either too late requesting, or they didn't bother getting back to me about my requesr. That is the reality of reviewing though. Not every developer (especially more well known Devs) is going to give every reviewer a shot at proving their worth. Being a blogspot reviewer doesn't help much either, but that's a different thing all together. Even with the disappointment from Capcom I still pursued my dream of reviewing a disc based game, and I'm glad to say that '7sixty (@7sixtygames)' has given me a fair shot at doing just that. '7sixty', and '5pb' have teamed together to bring us an anime fighting game called 'Phantom Breaker'. This game was originally released in Japan, but we are quite lucky that it will be ported over to the US/UK. In celebration of '7sixty' putting me on the list for a review of 'Phantom Breaker' I will share with you some screenshots, and box art of the game as well as my thoughts on it.

"Box Art"
I wanted to take the time to share some screen shots, and a little info on 'Phantom Breaker'. The PR for '7sixty' has been kind enough to send me these screenshots, and I think it's only right that I share them with you (my readers) ...

"Story Mode Screenshot"
I don't know much about 'Phantom Breaker' yet, and I don't really want to spoil my review material but I will let you in on some things. If you've been doing any research on this game at all you'll know that two of the available characters are from some fairly popular anime series, "Chaos; Head Noah" and "Steins; Gate". I have never actually watched these two anime series, but it definitely sparks my interest in them.

"Fighter Selection Screen"
You'll notice from the above screenshot that there is a fairly limited amount of characters to choose from. You'll also notice that the game has male characters, so it isn't only an all girl game. I have watched some footage on the game via Youtube and have found 'Phantom Breaker' to feature more anime inspired character designs than the 'BlazBlue' series which some have compared this game to (including myself).

"Versus Screen"
I was definitely glad to get a hold of a versus screenshot. This lets me know that there is possible local versus play as well as possible online gameplay. I definitely hope that 'Phantom Breaker' supports online gameplay, and that it is playable without any lag issues. If '7sixty' can deliver a solid online experience then this game will do well. I'm definitely rooting for this game since it is a new fighting game series that can offer something new to fans of the genre.

"In-game Screenshot"
In closing I want to offer you a glimpse at what the game looks like in action with the above gameplay screenshot. I picked this particular screenshot, because it showed some very impressive visual effects that take place in the game. It also shows off how the characters look fairly well. I will be showing off more of these screenshots in the days, and possibly weeks to come until the game is released. I hope you enjoyed this small look into this anime inspired fighter. Until next time I bid you farewell ladies, and gentlemen!
