The Fall of the Video Game Industry: "Things That Will Spell Certain Doom For Gaming"

Over the past few years I've witnessed a very concerning trend that has impacted the video game industry, and the potentially fun experiences that it offers. As most of you know by now hacking is all the rage these days. You see Hacktivists like Anon making headlines, and other global hackers advancing to the forefront with their thieving tomfoolery. On the sideline of this ever growing fad are the delinquent little sh*t heads who have nothing better to do than waste legitimate gamer's time with cheap gameplay, and unfair hacks. These fudge packers have ultimately become a prominent part of gaming culture, and use their hacking BS to heckle us honest gamers. As an avid gamer with years of experience under my belt I have come to loathe this situation with a burning passion. Often times I spend $60 for a new online game only to find elementary school, and middle school aged f*cktards bragging about their hacking victories in online lobbies. I report these fools religiously, and as I often as I do I still run into them online. Game developers, and console developers stand idly by letting these degenerate lowlifes dominate the world of online gaming. They could easily implement a proper reporting, and banning system, but instead are so money hungry that they could care less about fixing the problem.

As much as hacking irritates me it is not the only thing that concerns me now. Recently a certain Microsoft employee took it upon himself to tell the concerned gamers to basically shove off. This of course was concerning some leaked details of the Xbox 720's always online feature. As an online gamer this detail actually concerns me. Not only that, but some of the other unconfirmed rumors also concern me as well. Things like console specific games, and the blocking of used games could potentially spell the end for gaming as we know it. To me it feels like the higher ups in the gaming industry (Microsoft & Sony) are trying to end gaming with their money making shenanigans. If the rumor of the always online feature of Xbox 720 is true I'll likely not be buying it. With the economy in the state that it's in I don't know how long I'll be able to maintain my XBL subscription let alone my internet access. These are uncertain times, and large scale money making schemes will only hurt the gaming industry in the long run.

Imagine for a second if you will that a vast majority of gamers all of a sudden choose not to get the new next-gen consoles, because of the unfriendly features that they have. Microsoft, and Sony would be hit hard in the pocket, and could suffer a serious monetary loss as a result of the consumers lack of interest in their product. This in turn could trigger the company's loss of interest in the gaming industry altogether, and current consoles could be rendered obsolete forcing us to buy the newer ones if we ever hope to game online again. It's a sales tactic that could very well be put into place by such companies, and is not as far fetched as you might think. This is one of the things that worries me even more than hacking. It could spell certain doom for the gaming industry all the way around.

In the end hacking, and next-gen offerings are the two things that have the game industry hanging in the balance. If the hacking continues to escalate then gamers will eventually lose interest in online gaming altogether. This will result in the future production of poor video game selections, and offerings. If the next-gen rumors are true then the gaming industry could ultimately collapse in on itself causing the entertainment genre we grew up enjoying as a kid to become a distant memory. I highly suggest that game developers, and console producers begin to implement a proper reporting, and banning system. This could include in-game recording features, and replay upload capability. A site that monitors the replay uploads would also be a good way to manage all the complaints, and upload footage. As far as next-gen offerings is concerned that's pretty much up to the console developers. If they screwed up, and did everything that we hoped they wouldn't then the industry as we know it is screwed. That of course has yet to be seen though.

I'd like you to take a little time, and think about what I have said here in this article. Whether you're a legitimate gamer, or a hacking sucktard you need to take this stuff very seriously. If you want the online gaming industry to last for the long haul then STOP F*CKING CHEATING!!!. Play fair, and we'll all get along just fine. Nobody cares about your cheaply earned victories, and the fact is you'll eventually be alone in a lobby filled with opposing hackers (which you deserve). As far as the developers are concerned I hope you get your sh*t in order, and make a next-gen console that proves all the rumors to be false. Well, that is it. I've said my piece for now. Take it however you like.
