Online Injustice, Martian Manhunter & A Steaming Pile of ...

Like many enthusiasts in the world gaming journalists, and gamers themselves are often times compelled to voice their opinions about certain things that concern the subjects that they are most passionate about. I find that this moment in time I'm at that particular boiling point when I too have to get something off of my chest. This "issue", as I'm going to call it pertains to Netherrealm Studio's own unique brand of bullsh*t. Anyone who has been playing "Injustice: Gods Among Us" online these days will admit (assuming they are not doing it themselves) that the online lobbies are filled with lagswitchers, hackers, and cheap ass gamers. The game is broken as hell, and the guys over at Netherrealm Studios seem to be doing diddly squat about it. Sure Microsoft deals with most of the online BS (supposedly), but damned if I don't keep running into the same jackasses I report over, and over again. Something's not right here folks. Someone, somewhere is not doing their damn job.

While I could rant, and rave (like a madman) all day long about the online status of Injustice, and Sony's/Microsoft's lack of attention to the growing problem of console/game hacking I wanted to bring to light a trend that I've noticed with the release of each new Injustice DLC character. When the characters began to be released earlier this year there was a small flicker of hope that Netherrealm Studios knew what they were doing. At least in my opinion I thought so. Lobo, the first DLC character was released without too many significant complaints from the gaming community, and still remains one of my favorites out of the entire roster. He wasn't over-the-top, or OP in any way. He fit right in with the rest of the playable characters, and added some much needed badassery to the game. As time went on though, and other characters such as Batgirl, Scorpion, and General Zod were released it became apparent that Netherrealm's staff didn't have a damn clue as to what they were doing with the character design. Each new character following the release of Lobo was huge step in the wrong damn direction. The characters were often times OP in more ways than one, and were easily exploitable to those sorry POS gamers out there who have nothing better to do with their day than jack up someone's gaming experience. F*ck you losers, by the way!

Sadly, with the new DLC release of Martian Manhunter came the realization that Netherrealm studios is still very much on that downward spiral into gaming oblivion. I actually spent about an hour playing online Injustice today to see if I could find any Martian Manhunter players out there. I had honestly hoped that the additional character would have been good enough to warrant the 400msp/$5 purchase, but damned if the developer didn't f*ck up again. I ended up getting my wish, and was paired up against a few MM players who each had the same cheap ass playing style. Martian Manhunter is without a doubt the most annoying, cheap, and unfair character in the roster today. Not only does he have spammable punches that you can't block against worth sh*t, but his punches/attacks are so damn fast you can't punish anything that the green bastard is throwing at you. If the player controlling the Martian Manhunter decides to remain up close, and personal then you're sh*t out of luck. The fact that he has eye lasers, projectiles, teleport moves, and Super Skrull UMvC3 punches does little to weaken the OP onslaught this green SOB can dish out.

I think I've had my fill of this game. To hell with it! As Scorpion so rightfully said (sort of). I will not be paying extra money for a broken ass experience like the one "Injustice: Gods among Us" has to offer. You can say, "Well Brad, all the tournament players are into it", or "It's good for tournaments", but the fact is tournaments are played offline. While Injustice may be a great offline game the online portion of it (which I bought it for) is sh*t. It's crap. The fact is that punk ass kids, and power hungry teens nowadays are into hacking, and ruining every online gaming experience we know including that of Injustice's online. Unless Microsoft, or Sony have enough balls to really confront, and take on the issue of hacking/cheating, this next generation of game offerings will suffer from the same BS experience as current-gen systems. I have yet to hear either Microsoft, or Sony explain exactly how it is they plan on tackling the issues. This is one reason I have not given into purchasing a next-gen console, and I won't until I see exactly what both companies have up their trick filled sleeves.

I'm going to leave it at that folks. I've said what I had to say. You can disagree, or agree as much as you like. In fact feel free to leave a comment. Keep in mind though I have to approve every single comment that comes in now thanks to dumbf*cks who wish to leave comments with hacked links attached to them.
