Weekend Blog Log (June 13, 2015)

I want to start off this weekend's blog log by giving a collective "Thank You!!!" shout out to all those who have supported me throughout the years, and who continue to support me as I type this very article. You are the reason I do what I do. You are the driving force, and inspiration behind "OtakuDante's Gaming Inferno". For that I thank you! With that having been said I'm here to deliver a summary of my week's activities (or lack thereof) as well as let you in on my plans for the remainder of this weekend. I'm going to try, and keep it brief, and to the point but will elaborate on some details when I feel the need to do so.

For those of you tuning into what I have to say it is currently 4pm (EST) on a Saturday in June. The 13th to be precise. I'm still feeling a bit lightheaded from my anemia at the moment. I didn't keep up with my iron pills, and now I'm paying a rather hefty price for my neglect. Definitely be sure to stay on top of those prescribed medications, and do as the doctors order otherwise you'll suffer as I have. Speaking of which I know I've been whining about my anemia fairly consistently, and for that I apologize. You have to understand though that when you feel like death warmed over little else passes through your thoughts. It has truly been hard for me to focus on anything, because I feel like I could pass out at any moment. That's why there hasn't been much in the way of reviews, or article posts lately. My mind is too scatterbrained to type up anything as in-depth as a thorough review. I'm hoping the living dead feeling passes soon as it is putting a damper on things. Moving on ...

Outside of my self-inflicted suffering I have taken some time off from the regular review routine to catch up on some rest. I've also gotten in some serious time with 'Destiny', and have finally gotten my Hunter to lvl.34. A little later this evening I'll be joining a couple of my UK friends in some more Destiny. As far as new movies go I did watch "The Babadook" which was an oddly interesting indie horror film. It was well done, but at the end of it I still did not understand who, or what the Babadook was. I won't spoil it for you, but it's definitely a "4 out of 5 star film", and is very much worth a watch if you subscribe to Netflix. Next time I get the chance to watch a movie I want to also watch "Starry Eyes" as I hear it's a good horror indie as well.

In the way of upcoming reviews I do have a new game from 'Idea Factory Intl.' which is a sequel to the last game in the 'Neptunia Re;Birth' series. I'm just waiting on the review codes to be sorted out so I can download it, and begin my playthrough. The game is a PS Vita exclusive, and will be released on the 30th of this month. I can't wait to see what surprises the developer has in store for me this time. I definitely liked what they did with the series spin-off, 'Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed', and hope that they changed something up beyond the plot for return gamers. We'll have to wait, and see though ...

In other gaming news USF4 on the PS4 is finally up to par with it's PS3 counterpart. By that I mean it plays smoothly online, and offline (for the most part). There's still cheating going on online with the usual lagswitching. In fact I caught a player red handed doing that very thing, and uploaded it to my Youtube channel for the world to see. I plan on calling out, and exposing any USF4 player I run into online who goes out of their way to cheat. This will at least give you guys a heads up as to who to avoid when playing USF4 online. If you are interested in subscribing to, or checking out my Youtube channel all you have to do is search "otakudante" in Youtube's search engine, and my channel will appear listed in all it's glory. I upload mostly fighting game footage, and have had my channel since 2008. It wasn't until the uploading features on the PS3, and PS4 came into the picture though that my channel really began to flourish with gameplay footage. I thank Sony, and the Playstation consoles for that innovative improvement.

Anyways ... I have got to get this article posted, and join up with my friends in some Destiny. I shall type at you all later. Be sure to enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Your Last Samurai,
Brad Carver (OtakuDante)
