Prophetic Predictions In Gaming: Erron Black & The Death of the Western World

Erron Black has been in two mainstay Mortal Kombat fighting games, and in both, his origins have remained a mystery that was only hinted at. Erron Black is the embodiment of the Western Cowboy or Outlaw within MK lore. His costumes, his weapons of choice, his voice-over, and his physical appearance accounts for this. Looking at Erron's namesake, and his presence in recent MK games it might appear as if it were all a simple creative design choice, but what if there's more to Erron Black's presence than meets the eye? What if he is a predictive precursor to the fall of Western society? Hear me out.

Have you ever watched the movie "Meet Joe Black"? Do you know what the character Joe Black is? To answer both questions "Meet Joe Black" is a fictional film about Death's holiday. It was originally a remake of, "Death Takes A Holiday". Death, in the guise of a mortal man within the film, dons the name Joe Black to hide his identity so he can enjoy the life he never had. You can probably tell where I'm going with this, and might think it ridiculous, but consider a certain character interaction between Erron Black, and Skarlet in MK11. Skarlet asks Erron in one intro conversation if Shao Khan knows what he is? Erron replies back with a statement to the effect that he's chasing away his boredom, and Skarlet replies once again saying to Erron that Shao Khan better pray that you don't get bored. The latter remark referring to Erron's bored state. Hinting at the fact that Erron is something more malevolent, and deadly than he seems. Couple this with Erron's costumes that range from Civil War era attire to futuristic/apocalyptic duds and Erron seems to be some kind of immortal being. Add in the fact that one of his end match poses includes a pale horse that he rides, and the Joe Black death theory is all the more plausible. Seeing as Erron Black is a Western character, and a possible incarnation of Death he could very well be a telltale sign that the real Western world as we know it is dead or soon to be dead. Of course that is all a theory right now, but seeing as symbolism in entertainment has had hidden predictions it's not so farfetched a theory, if you stop to think about it. Perhaps Netherrealm knows of something bad about to happen to the Western world that the public isn't privileged to. Whether it be economic collapse or destruction via warfare perhaps they are warning us about it all through the character Erron Black. Perhaps so ...
