Idol Worship & The Entertainment Industry | A Retrospective Look

As far back as I can remember I have bought into movies, and supported them with my money and time. I amassed collections of VHS, DVDs, and Blu-rays thinking they were worth holding onto, and investing in. Some movies served as good memories of a past long gone while others inspired me with their messages and artistic creativity well beyond release. I even found some favorite actors and actresses while consuming the copious amount of content constantly distributed by Hollywood. Little did I know I'd be looking back in disgust some 30+ years later. Witnessing, in retrospect, the industry veil being removed, and it's underground evil revealing the corrupted state of moral decay that is the very foundation of modern bread & circuses as it relates to today's political movements/agendas.

Had I known the things I know now I would have spent my hobby money more carefully, but that's the thing about hindsight. Not everything in the moment is as clear as it is years down the road. Often times we look back at things we've done with regret, and for me this is no different. The amount of time in my life that I've wasted watching these films has really stolen away from life experiences that would have been more deserving, and worthwhile. Had I been more wise on the matter I could have spoke up about the very issues plaguing the industry, bringing awareness to it. I could have helped others see that we are padding the pockets of evil people with evil intentions.

Alas, I failed to see what was brewing behind the scenes, and it cost me a pretty penny. I sit currently not an arms length away from a serious stack of DVDs and Blu-rays I had intended to watch. Like a Pharaoh entombed with his Earthly possessions I can't help but see the folly in such a display of items amassed. It means little to me now, and serves as a constant reminder of things I could, and should have invested in. I can't even sell the sh*t, and I've honestly tried. Everyone and their mother is trying to sell their collections, and it's telling.

As a stern warning I leave you, the reader, with this final thought. Be careful what you waste your time and money on. Be careful whom you support with your money and time. Both time and money are things that bare consequences for poor use. We should never hand it over to companies, industries, or individuals who would use it to do harm to others. The sad thing is we've done it for so long the repercussions are hard to back peddle at this point, but there is a small glimmer of hope in the outing of industry evils. For in that knowledge, albeit a little too late, we can steer away from enabling the corrupt and powerful to influence our lives any further. I hope that you do.
