The 'Ms. Splosion Man' Pinball FX2 table was a joint effort between Zen Studios, and Twisted Pixel. It is my absolute favorite out of all of the tables in the Pinball FX2 library. I do realize it looks like it's geared more towards the female gamers, but I think it's really fun. The table definitely seems to have way more going on than any of the previous ones. It features a cool music soundtrack, vivid colors, and constant hilarious commentary/actions by Ms. Splosion Man herself. The table's setup is layed out just right so you can achieve some really high scores fairly easily. I currently have a highscore of 134 million points on this table which actually pales in comparison to a friend's score of close to 600 million points. I have played this table numerous times, and always go back for more. I'm hoping to get a highscore of at least 1 billion someday ...
The Ms. Splosion Man table features two main curved/spiral ramps in the middle of it. Zen Studios, and Twisted Pixel actually took it upon themselves to add the Destructoid robot (square green robot) to the middle of the playing field as well. This decision was made after Zen Studios, and Twisted Pixel met Destructoid at GDC 2011. I thought it was a neat little addition, and I had actually recognized the robot when I did my playthrough of the table. Aside from the Destructoid robot there is also a very large robot who seems to have busted his way through the wall (Mighty Eternal). If you've ever played 'Ms. Splosion Man (XBLA)' then you'll likely recognize it as well as the scientist who puts up some unbreakable glass walls when you complete the objective concerning the large robot. I'm not really familiar with any characters in the game, because I've never actually played Ms. Splosion Man though.
Scoring the higher points on the table requires completing such objectives as passing through the spiral ramp multiple times, striking the large black & white robot (Mighty Eternal), striking the DTOID robot a certain amount of times, riding a zipline, and breaking unbreakable glass that blocks the ramps. All of these objectives are much easier than any of the Pinball FX2 tables I have currently played. During my playthrough I noticed that Zen Studios actually included an extra view (7) on this table. That view is actually pretty helpful in getting a higher score. Other views I would recommend are 2, and 3. I actually got my highest score using the 3 view, but I found that view 2, and 7 also yielded pretty much the same results.
This table includes a lot of interactive objects from the Ms. Splosion Man game. There are directional cannons, rocket cannons, armored barrels, treadmills and an electric beam. There is actually a final battle on this table that involves the 'Mighty Eternal'. To engage in this battle you must complete 4 objectives. There are lots of obstacles to dodge in this event including rollerbots. It ultimately leads to the rescue of Splosion Man. I have yet to trigger the final battle, but trust me it is there. The Ms. Splosion Man table also features 4 achievments that you can unlock by completing the necessary requirements. The content available on this one table is quite impressive.
I honestly think the Ms. Splosion Man is a 'must' buy. Everything about it screams quality (not literally though ^.^). I love the little details that Zen Studios & Twisted Pixel added like the songs, and dances Ms. Splosion Man performs. I recognized that she was actually doing the 'macarena' at one point during the game. Some of the pop songs she would sing will likely be recognizable to gamers as well. The Mighty Eternal's voice-over was really cool. It had a robotic tone to it. I also found the color scheme to be quite inviting. This is definitely a solid pinball table, and very much worth the 240 msp ($3).
