Hurricane Irma & Where I'm At ...

First, and foremost I want you to know I'm not telling you my family's problems for pity, or funding. It's just a matter-of-fact update to let you know my situation in regards to hurricane Irma's aftermath. On September 11th Irma plowed through the state of Georgia with sustained winds of 50mph, and wind gusts even higher. In the middle of it all my mother, and father lost their home to some fallen trees. Trees which could have taken their lives, but thankfully did not. I had to actually ride with my adopted mother to the scene of devastation while the storm was still very active. We took a few roads which ended our desperate attempt to get to my parents abruptly due to trees laid across the roads. Thankfully we did eventually make it there via a back road, and assisted in getting my parents, and their most important belongings out before heading back to my house. Once back at my place with a lot of my family already there we waited in the darkness of the power outage as winds wailed, and trees twisted furiously in the wind. We didn't know if a tree would hit my place or not as well, and it's a miracle they didn't as this house is surrounded by old pines, oak trees, and other trees notorious for falling in high wind situations.

Fast forward to today, and we are making progress. My adopted mother is forwarding the process necessary to get the insurance company in to assess the scale of damage, and hopefully pay enough to get a new home on the property. We've had the tree company cut the trees from the house, and are currently waiting on electricians, and water damage personnel to come deal with what needs to be dealt with. The insurance company is trying to eliminate any further damage as to minimize the costs they'll have to pay to cover the loss of the house.

Also to note is the fact that we've gotta deal with some trees on my own property before they fall on my house. We've had a tree inspector come by, and he's pretty much confirmed what we already knew. There are at least three large trees that could hit the house come the next storm. So, we are dealing with my parents issues, and my own at the moment.

I bring this all up in that I am having to take at least a short break from reviews to deal with some of what's going on. It may be a weekend, or a week's break, if not longer before the next review is posted, but I'm not out of the picture yet when it comes to reviews. I do plan on reviewing the latest Danganronpa for NISA, Mary Skelter for Idea Factory, and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy for Bandai Namco. Each of these studios has been more than understanding of my situation, and quite generous with their kindness. I appreciate it all, and now that I've committed to downloading each of the games I will review them. I don't feel right accepting a code without following through with a review even if it was gifted to me. I've just gotta take a momentary step back, regain my ground, and get back to work when I can. That being said I have no plans for a long term absence. I've worked hard to keep my blogs up-to-date with new content. I'm not giving up on it.
