I am currently deep into chapter 6 season 1 of Fortnite, and I have to admit it has turned out to be one of the more interesting chapter starters. Everything from the Japanese themed map to the neo-feudal character designs really hit the spot. While the chapter started off with a huge XP earnings problem that has since been resolved through Epic Games adding a lot of new ways to unlock tiers on the battle pass things have seemingly worked out for the best. The initial adjustment to the battle star system was rightfully met with criticism, but it was nice to see Epic correct course.
Being an Otaku, and lover of all things Japanese chapter 6 season 1 of Fortnite really impressed me. The amount of detail they put into the map design, and the stellar battle pass casting of characters really did good by the fans. Couple in the Mariah Carey Winter event, the return of OG skins as well as the awesome Winterfest gift assortment, and it was on banger of a season!
Me and my friends celebrated by gifting each other bundles from the item shop. King Ruckus got me Flakey the snowman burd, and I got him as well as Neo-CyberMario the Johnny Silverhand Cyberpunk 2077 skin. Rounding it all off with a gift to Beatnik Phat with the V Cyberpunk 2077 skin, and a dance emote. If I were made of money I'd definitely be gifting more people items. For it is the season of giving, or at least it should be.
I hope everyone who plays Fortnite has enjoyed their Winter holiday, and Christmas! I hope you spent it in good company, and with people who care about you. Seeing as Fortnite offers that friendship experience in spades it is one game I'm glad to pour my money and time into. It may not last forever, but the memories made with the players who make the game as great as it is more than makes up for the throwaway investment. Minus the cheaters who still need to be dealt with ...
Going into 2025 I hope the Fortnite experience only gets better. We definitely need the escape given the world's escalating chaos. I hope Fortnite, and all of gaming stays a viable entertainment option for everyone. May there be less talking down to the gamers, and more in the way of making games great again.
